The Customs Service (administration) of Internal Revenue Commission is responsible for the administration of indirect tax policies derived fro the Customs Act and Regulation, Customs Tariff Act, Customs Excise Act and Regulation, Customs Export Tariff Act, Customs (Ad Valorem Duties) Regulation, Customs (Prohibited Import) Regulation, Customs (Personal Effects) Regulation and Customs (Prohibited Export) Regulation. The administration also enforces other inter-related legislations on behalf of other government agencies.
In an ever changing global trade environment, we now focus our core business on is the drive to facilitate trade and investment and to protect our borders which is in line with the Internal Revenue Commission Vision to build a workplace that is respected as much as we do our business and that is honesty, openness, professionalism and fairness in what we do.
Our Mission is therefore, is to collect revenue, protect our borders and facilitate trade and investment for the benefit of the people of Papua New Guinea.
